So many people are so screwed.
People holding so-called green cards, making them legal permanent U.S. residents, are included in President Donald Trump’s executive action temporarily barring people from seven Muslim-majority countries from entering the United States, a Department of Homeland security spokeswoman said on Saturday.
“It will bar green card holders,” Gillian Christensen, acting Department of Homeland Security spokeswoman, said in an email.
Have a nice vacation, y’all.
…it could bar those with current visas or even green cards from returning to the U.S. from trips abroad, said Stephen Legomsky, a former chief counsel to the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services under President Obama.
“It’s extraordinarily cruel,” he said.
C’mon dude. They’re terrorists.
Alphabet Inc.’s Google delivered a sharp message to staff traveling overseas who may be impacted by a new executive order on immigration from President Donald Trump: Get back to the U.S. now….
“It’s painful to see the personal cost of this executive order on our colleagues,” Pichai wrote in the memo, a copy of which was obtained by Bloomberg News. “We’ve always made our view on immigration issues known publicly and will continue to do so.”
Oh stop it. They’re Al Qaeda.
One of at least two Iraqis detained at Kennedy International Airport in New York City in the wake of President Trump’s executive order on immigration has been released.
Hameed Jhalid Darweesh walked out of Kennedy Airport with New York Congressional Reps. Nydia Velazquez and Jerry Nadler.
Darweesh was one of at least two Iraqis held at the airport, and court records confirm that a writ of habeas corpus was filed for him and Haider Sameer Abdulkhaleq in the Eastern District of New York, where the airport is located, and that Donald Trump has been named as a defendant.
Typical of ISIS, isn’t it? Taking our president to federal court, the bastards. Anyway it’s good to see the Vice President has come to his senses.
“I’m establishing new vetting measures to keep radical Islamic terrorists out of the United States,” Trump said from his podium at the Pentagon. “We don’t want ’em here.”
Pence nodded along to the words…
Trump sat down after his speech, signed the executive order and handed it to Mattis — a retired general who six months earlier had said the mere suggestion of a ban on Muslims caused “great damage” to world order.
Now, Mattis was defense secretary. He took the order and grinned while Pence started clapping.
Clap! Clap! Tweet! Oops.
Those who hold dual nationality in the seven countries banned from entering the U.S. by President Trump will also be barred from entering the country, the Wall Street Journal reported Saturday…
The newspaper offered the example of an Iraqi person entering the U.S. on a British passport would also be banned, though British citizens don’t normally require a visa to enter the country.
“Travelers who have nationality or dual nationality of one of these countries will not be permitted for 90 days to enter the United States or be issued an immigrant or nonimmigrant visa,” the statement said, according to the Journal.
If you were born in Bosaso but grew up in Liverpool, too bad for you. You shouldn’t have joined joined the Taliban stupid.
