The National Park Service isn’t too happy about Donald Trump becoming their new boss, which is understandable. The Leader and his pals have big plans for our parks, oceans and wildlife refuges, i.e. selling them off to the highest bidder for some long-needed upper income tax breaks.
So it’s no mystery why the NPS went and re-tweeted this.
And it’s no surprise what the boss did next.
…the NPS has been ordered by its Washington support office to “immediately cease use of government Twitter accounts until further notice,” according to an internal email obtained by Gizmodo.
This would be perfectly fine if the NPS were some random idiot ranting at his enemies like, oh say, a certain unhinged billionaire. But tweets from the NPS can actually serve a function.
Nonetheless The Leader has spoken.
PWR parks that use Twitter as part of their crisis communications plans need to alter their contingency plans to accommodate this requirement. Please ensure all scheduled posts are deleted and automated cross-platform social media connections to your twitter accounts are severed. The expectation is that there will be absolutely no posts to Twitter.
